Info to Help Cure Persistent Hiccups

I have created this blog in an effort to help others find a cure for persistent hiccups which have lasted longer than 48 hours, and in most cases for several days.

This blog documents my experience with a severe bout of persistent hiccups that lasted 7 days, and what was finally done to cure them.

7 Days of Persistent Hiccups Lead to a Nervous Breakdown

Tuesday finally came and I was going out of my mind. I was unable to eat, because if I did I would start to choke and gag. Not to mention the severe chest pains from the Acid Reflux food was causing. I was unable to sit still or relax because a side effect from the medicine I was taking is restlessness. I couldn’t lie down because if I did the Acid would run up my throat and make me vomit. I was so stressed out and worn down the best I could manage was to throw a fit.

After seeing me have a nervous breakdown my fiancée decided it was best to go back to Urgent Care for another shot at solving this problem. This was the key visit in my search for a Cure to my Hiccups.

Nausea Medicine & Drugs Do Not Cure the Hiccups

Once again it seems the doctor chose to hear we he wanted to hear, and I was prescribed yet another medication for nausea and stomach problems. Neither of which were an accurate description of what was happening to me.

As I mentioned above it was more like chocking and gagging as a result of something stuck in my throat, rather than vomiting due to nausea. In my mind this was surely being caused by the continuous Acid Reflux I was experiencing.

I still took the Metoclopramide for a full 24 hours hoping for anything that would help at this point. It had now been 6 days and I still had the hiccups, and I was close to my wits end.
